Raclette Nights at The Belgian Cafe

Famous dish from Switzerland and Savoie in France.
Raclette involves an electric table top grill with small pans, to heat slices of cows’ cheese.
Traditionally, it is accompanied by firm potatoes, gherkins and dried meat (jambon, parma ham and salami) or in a vegetarian style.
Side options are available as salad, vegetables and pickled onions.
How to enjoy Raclette:
The cheese is brought sliced to the table accompanied by platters of boiled potatoes and dried meat.
These are then mixed and topped with cheese in a small pan (wedge-shaped coupelles) that are placed under the grill to melt and brown the cheese. Alternatively, slices of cheese may be melted and simply poured over food on the plate.
The Raclette party evening is a relaxed and sociable eating experience to share with family and friends.
